QUESTION: “What about the lack of desire to do anything but sleep?”
When a person has entered the dying process three things begin to happen: their eating decreases, sleep increases and they begin withdrawing from the world around them. They are letting go of their hold on life. This life has less meaning. They gradually, just don’t care as much as they used to about anything. Just imagine that a person who is dying a gradual death from disease or old age is letting go of their hold on this world and building their place in another world. This activity is part of the normal, natural way to die.
