I was asked a question from a woman whose mother is on hospice care and I thought I would share my response. The question was "My mother has stopped eating. Why isn't the hospice staff making my mother eat?".
When there isn't end of life education on the normal, natural way people die, the family will believe a common myth that hospice starved their loved one. Simply offering ALWAYS OFFER, NEVER FORCE, Food At End of Life, which explains eating and hydration at end of life, the family understands the process and can offer love in other ways during this sacred time.
